Internet quality monitoring

The Watchdog Agent provides insight into the internet quality you experience.

Open the agent to see how hardware, WiFi, Router/Gateway, and ISP shape your internet quality. The color of the icon shows three internet quality states: normal, caution, and warning. The yellow dotted line on the bar graph indicates caution, and the red dotted line indicates a warning. Watchdog provides helpful tips for understanding metrics and possible fixes.

Your computer Your CPU and memory usage and comparison metrics for other members of your team
WiFi/LAN WiFi/LAN quality metrics
Router/Gateway Internal and external IP address
ISP Your ISP's performance compared to other Watchdog users on your ISP
Internet Your internet quality compared to your overall ISP's performance and other members of your team

Section 2: WiFi
WiFi metrics update every second
  • Signal degradation (%): WiFi signals get weaker over distance and when passing through walls. Internet quality suffers as the signal degradation percentage increases. <Caution over 30%, Warning over 50%>
  • Frame loss (frames/s): The percentage of data frames the WiFi loses as they travel between your computer to the internet. <Caution over 0frames/s, Warning over 100frames/s>
  • Latency (ms): Time this WiFi requires to send a data packet between your computer and the router/gateway. <Caution over 20ms, Warning over 50ms>
  • Jitter (ms): Time penalty for inconsistent arrival of data packets between your computer and the router/gateway for this WiFi. <Caution over 20ms, Warning over 50ms>
  • Loss (%): Percentage of data packets this WiFi loses as they travel between your computer and the router/gateway. <Caution over 1%, Warning over 5%>
